The Sprenger KK Ultra Baucher Bit is a fixed cheek snaffle which features a central lozenge also known as a bean. This central lozenge is set at 45 degrees forward which means that it sits comfortably and evenly on the tongue. As the bean sits evenly on the centre of the tongue, once contact is taken up, the bean takes advantage of the sensitivity of the tongue and applies pressure allowing for enhanced communication. The unique design prevents upper palate interference and ensures that the tongue does not become pinched or squeezed.
The Sprenger KK Ultra Baucher Bit takes advantage of the sensitivity of the tongue ensuring there is no risk of pinching. The mouthpiece is anatomically to follow the contours of the horses tongue and is designed to help promote consistency and rein aid clarity. Combined with the fixed cheek design, this bit is ideal for getting horses accustomed will poll pressure which is why it is an ideal choice when moving up into doubles. The baucher design bit also offers greater stability in the mouth and as such, is often preferable for Arab types or those with a low palate.
